Preschool During a Shutdown: LPK Makes the Best of Our Time Apart

When schools shut down in March, our fabulous LPK teachers, Miss Gail and Miss Tracey, leapt right into action, developing content to share with our LPK parents on Facebook.

From storybook read-alouds, to games, to crafts, to science experiments, Miss Gail and Miss Tracey made dozens of videos to keep our children connected and learning — and to help them through this new, and sometimes difficult, experience. (Miss Gail and Miss Tracey also shared resources, via Facebook and email, to help LPK parents help their children through.)

Then in May, Miss Gail and Miss Tracey began hosting Zoom calls with each preschool class. The children were so excited to see their classmates! The experience went better than we hoped, and gave us some ideas for how to manage LPK Zoom meetings, should we need to revisit them in the future.

Please visit our new Response to COVID-19 page to read about our plans for the 2020-21 school year. And please visit our LPK Facebook Page to take a look at our LPK teachers’ amazing work from the spring, and even into the summer!
