LPK is a co-op preschool. Participating in the co-op offers parents the opportunity to develop and grow with their child in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Co-op parents’ responsibilities include:
- Helping* in the classroom each month and providing a nutritious snack
- Selecting and performing a specific job from the “LPK Job Chart” or serving on the Executive Board
- Participating in fundraising activities, meeting an annual fundraising commitment of $250
- Attending all General Membership meetings
*Per a new Maryland law, all classroom helpers (whether they be parents, grandparents, nannies, etc.) must be fingerprinted and undergo a background check. LPK will provide families with the forms (see below) and information they need in order to meet this requirement.
LPK offers a limited number of non-co-op slots per class. Non-co-op families are exempt from the monthly commitment to help in the classroom and the requirement to perform a job from the “LPK Job Chart.” They are responsible for:
- Participating in fundraising activities, meeting an annual fundraising commitment of $250
- Attending all General Membership meetings

Once your child’s registration is complete, you’ll need the following two forms to initiate the State-required fingerprinting and background check. For families who have registered in the winter or spring prior to their child’s school year, LPK will collect these forms (and help families navigate the requirements) in June. Families who register after June will need to complete the forms as soon as they’ve registered.
- Emergency Form
- Medication Administration Authorization Form
- All About My Child
- Immunization Certificate
- Blood Lead Testing Certificate
- Health Inventory
- Guide to Regulated Child Care
** This application is for the 2023-2024 school year. LPK is also taking applications for the current school year. If you’d like to register for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year, please contact our director.
